POINT CLASSES

  1. The HYSLC will offer the following divisions:

    • Market Lamb – Points will be counted from the top 2 lambs exhibited per show per exhibitor in this division.

    • Commercial Ewe Division – Points will be counted from the top lamb exhibited per show per exhibitor in this division.

  2. An exhibitor may show as many lambs as they wish per division. Points will only be tallied on the top placing lambs in each respective division.

  3. All sanctioned shows will place a Top 5 Overall Market Lamb and a Top 3 Overall Commercial Ewe.

  4. Top 5 Overall Market Lamb and Top 3 Overall Commercial Ewe will be selected from the champion and reserve breed divisions only.

  5. Points will be accumulated on how a lamb places in class whether or not other lambs in the class are exhibited by HYSLC members.

  6. Points will be tallied from an exhibitors top 6 shows throughout the year. HYSLC Fall Classic will count in to the top 6 shows and will count for double points.

  7. HYSLC Spring and Fall Futurity Shows will count as regular sanctioned point shows.

  8. Points will only count after the date that members’ dues are paid.

  9. HYSLC will sanction an unlimited number of shows.

  10. Tiebreakers will be based on total showmanship points, followed by total number of shows.

POINTS STRUCTURE

  1. Market Lambs

    • Grand – 7 points

    • Reserve – 5 points

    • 3rd Overall – 3 points

    • 4th Overall – 2 points

    • 5th Overall – 1 point

      • Breed Champions

        • Champion Cross/Hamp/Natural – 4 points

        • Reserve Cross/Hamp/Natural – 3 points

        • Champion Suffolk/White Face/Speckle – 2 points

        • Reserve Suffolk/White Face/Speckle – 1 point

          • If the Suffolk, White Face, or Speckle is Grand or Reserve Overall, they shall receive 2 bonus points.

      • Class Points

        • 1st – 10 points

        • 2nd – 9 points

        • 3rd – 8 points

        • 4th – 7 points

        • 5th – 6 points

        • 6th – 5 points

        • 7th – 4 points

        • 8th – 3 points

        • 9th – 2 points

        • 10th and down – 1 point

  2. Commercial Ewes

    • Grand – 5 points

    • Reserve – 3 points

    • 3rd Overall – 1 point

      • Breed Champions

        • Champion BFX Ewe – 4 points

        • Reserve BFX Ewe – 3 points

        • Champion WBI Ewe – 2 points

          • If the WBI Commercial Ewe is Grand Overall she shall receive 2 bonus points.

        • Reserve WBI Ewe – 1 point

        • Class Points

          • 1st – 10 points

          • 2nd – 9 points

          • 3rd – 8 points

          • 4th – 7 points

          • 5th – 6 points

          • 6th – 5 points

          • 7th – 4 points

          • 8th – 3 points

          • 9th – 2 points

          • 10th and down – 1 point

  3. Showmanship Points are awarded per division as follows.

    • 1st – 10 points

    • 2nd – 9 points

    • 3rd – 8 points

    • 4th – 7 points

    • 5th – 6 points

    • 6th – 5 points

    • 7th – 4 points

    • 8th – 3 points

    • 9th – 2 points

    • 10th and down – 1 point
